UpVoiced vs Canny

Canny is one of the best-known feedback boards, and it has grown well beyond one: its Autopilot reads support and sales conversations to find requests, and its paid plans tie feedback to revenue through CRM integrations. If you are looking for a Canny alternative, the useful question is which parts of that you need.Source [7]Source [22]

UpVoiced covers the core loop — a branded board, a public roadmap, a changelog and emails to everyone who asked — with a different pricing model and an MCP server that AI agents can use from the free plan. Here is how the two line up, with a source for every fact about Canny.

UpVoiced is in development and not open for sign-ups yet; its prices are a proposal. Facts about Canny were checked against its own public pages on 2026-10-22.

Where UpVoiced and Canny differ

What you pay for

Canny's plans are sized by tracked users: anyone who posts, votes or comments, including feedback that an admin or Autopilot adds on their behalf. Go past your tier and Canny moves you up automatically unless you set a spend limit. UpVoiced's proposed plans are a flat price per workspace with no charge per voter; plans differ in boards, seats and monthly email recipients instead.Source [4]Source [5]Source [1]

AI agents and MCP

Canny's MCP server signs in with OAuth, offers more than 55 tools and is available on any paid plan. UpVoiced's MCP server is on every plan, read-only with one API key on Free, and actions that email people or merge posts return a preview and wait for your confirmation.Source [8]Source [9]

Telling people what shipped

Both notify voters when a request changes status. Canny emails changelog subscribers on its Pro plan; UpVoiced emails a changelog entry's followers on every plan, within the plan's monthly email allowance, and each entry links the requests it ships.Source [15]Source [14]

Branding

Canny lists custom domains on Pro and Business and offers removing its branding as a paid add-on on Business. UpVoiced lets Starter and higher plans remove the "Powered by UpVoiced" badge; custom domains are planned for Starter and are not built yet.Source [18]Source [19]

Canny pricing and UpVoiced’s proposed plans

Free includes 5 managers and Pro 10, with unlimited contributors on every plan.Source [1]Source [2]Source [3]Source [6]

UpVoiced plans a free plan with no time limit and no card, then Starter $19, Growth $49, Business $119 a month per workspace, with annual billing at ten times the monthly price. These prices are not final and nothing can be bought yet. See every proposed limit.

When Canny may suit you better

  • You want AI to find requests in Intercom, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gong or Zoom conversations: Canny's Autopilot does this on every plan, including Free, and UpVoiced has no built-in AI yet.Source [7]
  • You plan in Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Asana, GitHub or Azure DevOps, or need HubSpot and Salesforce data next to feedback: Canny lists these integrations on its paid plans, while UpVoiced offers its REST API, webhooks and Slack and Discord alerts today.Source [21]Source [22]
  • Your security review asks for a SOC 2 report: Canny lists SOC 2 on Pro and Business.Source [23]

Moving from Canny

UpVoiced imports Canny's CSV export: posts, votes by email, comments and statuses come across as a background job with a progress and error report. Your users can keep signing in with your product's accounts through UpVoiced's single sign-on, much as Canny Identify lets them.Source [17]

Can I move my Canny board to UpVoiced?

Yes. Export a CSV from Canny and import it into UpVoiced: posts, votes matched by email, comments and statuses are mapped for you, and the import shows its progress and any rows it could not read.

Which one works with Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

Both have an MCP server. Canny's is on its paid plans and signs in with OAuth. UpVoiced's is on every plan, uses scoped API keys, and asks for your confirmation before merging, shipping or emailing.
